Is There Permanent Cure For Seizures?

My son was having seizure almost one & half year back & second after 8 months of the first while discontinuing medicine with Dr. advice. Heis now 20, taking 3 doses of Eptoin regularly. How long he is to continue the same or there is any permanent treatment. Pl. advice.

Hello,

Permanent treatment depends on cause. If cause is reversible then yes, patient gets relieved of medications. General principle for withholding medicines for epilepsy is that if patient is fit free for past 3 years the medicines can be tapered off slowly.
