Is There Cause For Concern For Undescended Testicle?
Hi, My 9 year old son had and undescended testicle which the doctor says is now as expected size wise. His right testical seem much larger.I would say the size of a small satsuma is this normal, we have been trying to get him to the doctors to check but each time he cant find it as its hidden (to cold to pop out) ?? Is this a normal size or should I be concerned
I welcome you to healthcare magic for your health concerns I am Dr Fahim and I will looking into your problem
I have gone through your question. What I comprehend is that there was an undescended testicle, but was it operated? Or it came down on itself? Coming to the size disparity, there are size differences in the testis which is normal. Mostly right testis in bigger in size than left, while left is lower in position. Next I think you are pointing to a retractile testis; as you say a hidden testis. It is present in the upper portion of the scrotum at the base of the penis. It can be brought down with careful manipulation. This problem usually disappears at the time of puberty. But in small number of cases it still persist, called as ascending testis. If this happen, then you need to consult a general surgeon or urologist who will perform orchidopexy.
