Is There Any Other Type Of Treatment For Chronic Bronchitis Other Than Cold Medicine With Codine?

I have had bronchitis since I was 13 years old. I also have a hiatius hernia. Now my doctor thinks my bronchits is related to the gerd. I was told when I was 13 that my bronchial tubes were bad. Can't get them to understand that. The only thing that helps me when the weather is wet, damp and cold is the cold medicine with codine in it - is there any other type of treatment for bronchitis?

Hi,
As the bronchitis seems to be associated with cold,it is mostly allergic in origin. The fact that it's there in a specific(damp/cold )weather also supports allergy.
You should have allergy testing testing by an allergy specialist. Once you know the things you are allergic to,you can-
- Avoid them,
- Get rid of allergy by desensetisation treatment.
This wll defenately control your attacks of allergic bronchitis.
Thanks
