Hello and welcome to HCM,
Widal test is done for the diagnosis of
typhoid fever.
Widal test detects the presence of
antibodies against the O and H antigen of
Salmonella typhi, causative agent of typhoid fever.
The antibody titres of 1: 80 and above are considered as reactive or positive for typhoid infection.
Thus, the antibody titre for O antigen is positive or reactive at 1:180.
However, a prior intake of antibiotics can lead to false negative Widal test.
However, your test is still positive so typhoid is suspected.
You need to consult your primary health provider for prescription of antibiotic treatment for typhoid infection.
You can continue the antibiotic for
urinary tract infection.
Get a urine test repeated after the antibiotic course is over.
Thanks and take care
