Is There A Chance Of Placenta Going Back To Its Normal Position?

Hello,My name is Alexandra,I am 21 years old,and I'm 29 weeks pregnant. At 20 weeks ultrasound doctor told me my placenta seems to be posterior, and covering os.I ask her what that means and she said"well in this case we are talking about caesarean section",and then she told me have more rest don't work hard and any bleeding you may observe, please contact the hospital. That scared me a lot.I got a 32 weeks scan rebooked but i am going crazy thinking about what will happen. My question is:In some cases placenta is going back to normal at the end of the pregnancy?I don't have at this moment any bleeding and i did not have at all before

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Yes, some times in early months of pregnancy low lying placenta are diagnosed, & in these cases there is chance of placenta shifting back ( because of the uterine growth) & take a riskfree place.
- But in your case, when your doctor has commented that the placenta is covering the os- it may not shift it's position.
_ It's good that you don't have bleeding all these days.
- you should go for your next scan bravely-
- If it has shifted ,well & good,
- But if it has not--nothing to worry about. you will be taken for a planned LSCS & a safe child birth will follow.
- continue to follow doctor's advice strictly, & be ready to welcome your baby!
Thanks.
