Is The Cortisone Shot Sufficient To Ease The Pain In The Shoulder Due To The Damage?

Years ago, I injured my right shoulder. The doctor took an x-ray and said that the tendon was not torn, but that there was some damage. He decided to treat it conservatively by administering a Cortisone shot, but said that it might only work for awhile....that was about 3-4 yrs ago, but now I am experiencing the same kind of discomfort. I have 3 young children, one of whom I hold on my right hip, using my right shoulder muscle. I assume that is why the shoulder is giving me discomfort again. I was wondering whether another Cortisone shot could possibly be sufficient to ease the pain?
