Is Testosterone Dangerous To Continue?

i AM AN 82 YEAR OLD MALE. MY PLATELET COUNT IS 30. MY ENDOCRONOLOGIST ADVISED ME TO TAKE TESTOSTERONE EVERY 2 WEEKS TO FEEL STRONGER & MORE ALIVE. HOWEVER, MY HEMATOLOGIST SAYS IT IS LOWERING THE PLATELET COUNT, AS i HAVE ITP. IS IT IN FACT DANGEROUS TO CONTINUE THE TESTOSTERONE SHOTS? I ALSO HAVE FIBRILATION - UNEVEN HEART BEAT. ALSO, I HAD A STROKE ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO. I WOULD APPRECIATE AN OPINION.

Hi,

Low platelet is a matter of concern and it may cause the serious medical condition underlying cause of it needs to be known.

No need to take any testosterone. It may not have any role in age 82 years.

The abnormal heartbeat can be due to age but it has to be ruled out for cardiac disease and without EKG it can be differentiated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
