Is Sleeping Aid Diphenhydramine Better Than Having High Dose Of Melatonin? Getting Normal After Hip Replacement

I usually take 3 mg melatonin for sleep but took more because 3 mgs were not working. I recently had a hip replaced and am trying to get back to normal. Was wondering if the sleep aid diphenhydramine would be ok? Which is better. I don t like taking drugs. Thanks for your time.

Melatonin is better sedative than diphenhydramine. Melatonin works on sleep rythm cycle due to chances of dependence are less even on higher doses. diphenhydramine is anti histaminic drugs which has additional sleeping effect.
