Is Seborrheic Dermatitis Around Face And Chin With Lump On Upper Neck Concerning?
Hello, I have recently Seborrhoeic Dermatitis around the face, chin and I have noticed a lump on my upper neck. I saw my GP this week who said to come back next week if it is still there. It is the same size and I am very worried. My skin has cleared up on my face...still got eczema elsewhere (as I do this time of year) The lump is the size of a pea, doesn t hurt (other than the feeling of a spot) and hasn t leaked or weeped. I have jphad it around 5-6 weeks.
I can understand your concern for thelump on upper neck after the clearance of seborrheic dermatitis.
After reading the complete query it appears to be simple proliferation of the lymph node only. It is quite common to find swelling of lymph node due to internal infection or due to skin infection of the adjoining areas.
As you got seborrheic dermatitis of the face area so the lymph node draining the face area that is on chin or on neck can be come enlarged.
I advise you to not pinch or pop the area otherwise these areas are very prone for getting secondary infection.
There is no need of any medication for the same and so be relaxed.
Take care.
