Is Reconstruction Or Physiotherapy Recommended For ACL Tear And Blood Accumulation?

Hello Doctor, I slipped and fell down yesterday. My knee is injured again which earlier I had damaged more than a year back when I met with an accident. Had an MRI done then which indicated that there is a partial tear in ACL.Last time I had to get it aspirated as there was blood accumulated in that area. After yesterdays fall I witness some blood accumulated again and slight pain. My knee stability is not bad as I used to run and was able to perform physical task with ease before yesterday. Need to know if I should opt for a reconstruction surgery or Phsyio therapy and some medicines as immediate treatment option.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As such, there is no surgery required right now. Take physiotherapy, apply knee cap, ice pack, take rest, take anti-inflammatory medicines and get your MRI done after 1 week.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
