Is Pain In The Feet And Hips A Symptom Of Rheumatoid Arthritis?

I have the RA Marker, I am 54 yrs old. I have achy feet, some times hips and hands. I also get hives at times, which I have had off and on most my life. Lately more often. I have some lumps on my fingers. My mom had RA , Sjorians, and vasculitis. Do you think the hives are a symptom of RA? they start on my hands, head, forehead , head then sometimes go to my lips and eyes.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory condition which lead to swollen joints and pain, especially in the morning, with stiffness that lasts for more than 30 min. The swollen joints are symmetrical and often are the small joints of the hands, the wrist and the small joints of the foot. The skin over the affected joints maybe red because of the inflammation. If this conditions has also increased or inflammatory reactants in the blood like CRP, ESR, or elevated WBC (leucocytosis), positive rheumatoid factor or positive anti-CCP, you should consider the start of glucocorticoids and Methotrexate, based on the disease activity.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
