Is Lower Back Pain Connected To Arthritis?

I m almost age 98 and haven t ever had any trouble with the prostate, but recently I ve had lower back pains that don t seem to be arthritis related. Ina recent seminar I rec d information that caused me to rethink the possibility of a sick prostate. My father died in 1962 of prostate cancer, 3 months short of his 70th birthday. Sooo, this concern. Should I consult a local doctor for better analysis?

Hi,

Yes you should get your prostate evaluation again with PSA levels as well as ultrasound KUB as well as prostate with pre and post void urine volumes. Also LDH, calcium, alkaline phosphatase levels should be done to look for cause of lower back pain in relation to prostate.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
