Is It To Be Concern About Sun Burn?

My fiance is a fisherman and he often doesn't wear sunscreen, or doesn't apply it more than once a day. He has burnt his nose several times in the last few weeks and it is now raised red tissue and some is now an orangish-yellow tint... Is this something that he should visit a doctor for? What could it be? Age:21

Hi,thanks for posting your query on health care magic,

As per your clinical history, sun burn in his case involve both UV-A and UV-B mediated radiation injury.yes he definitely had a sunburn which is in healing stage, orange yellow tint indicates it.All he needs now is an efficient sunscreen with sun protection factor(S.P.F) of 50.
This can prevent sun burn, tanning as well as sunlight induced cancers.Best results can be obtained with frequent detanning procedures and avoiding outdoor work from 10 am to 2 pm.Maintain adequate hydration by drinking 3-4 liters of water every day.
Consult an expert dermatologist for further queries.
Thank you,
Take care.
