Is It Safe To Use Vicks Vapor Rub For Child With G6PD Deficiency?

Hi, my 5 month old baby boy has bronchitis according to his pedia..They say "Put the vicks vapor rub on the bottom of his feet and cover with socks. Best at night when he is sleeping." is this really helping? and my son has G6PD..is it safe to use vicks vapor rub?

It is better to avoid all possible drugs which are not mandatory.
some antihistaminic, antipyretics along with expectorant will help.
Steam inhalation to be continued .
