Is It Safe To Use Elyn Cream For Facial Hair?

Facial Hair problem. I went to a skin doc and he suggested me laser treatment of min 6 sittings. He also suggested me to use Elyn Cream. I have 2 questions: will laser treatment lead to acne or skin burn? Is Elyn cream safe. If i stop using it after some time will it cause for more hair growth.

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

Laser treatment won't lead to acne. Though skin burn is a side effect of laser hair reduction, but not in trained hands. Apart from mild redness post-laser which goes away with ice-pack application there are really no side effects with LHR, if done by a well trained/experienced expert.

Elyn cream contains, Eflornithine hydrochloride 13.9%. It is safe and can be combined with other methods of hair reduction e.g Laser. It slows down the rate of hair growth and also makes the slightly hair soft and finer, by interfering with the metabolism of hair. It has to be applied daily and for 4-6 weeks continuously, for noticeable effects. However, since it reversibly inhibits the hair metabolism, therefore as soon as (generally 4-8 weeks after stopping) the application of cream is stopped, the hair growth rate and hair quality, goes back to the same to what it was before applying the cream.

Hope this helps
