Is It Safe To Take Zithromax Z-pak For Cramps,stomach Ache And Heartburn After An Apicoectomy?

I had a endodentic surgery apicoetomy on january 2nd.
I took immidiatly clindamycin for 2 days and because of cramps, stomac ache and heartburn I stop taking it.
Doctor prescribed me metronidazole which I started taking on Jan.7th. After 3 days I had a strong reaction and was vomiting for half night. I had to stop taking metronidazole.
Could you advise me if zithromax z-pak would be ok for me.
I am allergic to some penicillin and codein. I also have hard time to swallow large pills ( would prefere capsules).
I have also problems with heartburn .
Please let me know if I realy need antibiotics?

Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist (DM).

Since you have already taken antibiotics for 5 days I don't think there is any need for further antibiotics however you should discuss with your treating doctor who operated on you. Regarding zithromax z pak it is of different group from which you are allergic and metronidazole and clindamycin.
