Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i was asked by my orthodontist not to take advil because its an anti-inflammatory, the inflamation in my mouth is because of a operation that will make my teeth move more quickly. he said tylenol is fine because its not a strong anti inflammatory. however im in a lot of pain and smoke weed normally fixes that. so my question is can i smoke weed without it causing my inflammation to be disrupted.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain in case of you are advised not to take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Advil then you can take Tylenol as it can relieve mild pain and discomfort.. But in case if you are not getting relieved you can take other painkillers that can relieve severe pain that comes under a group of Narcotic painkillers like TRAMADOL or Hydrocodone..
Smoking weed is not advisable as it can lead to other side effects as well as Smoking will further increase Inflammation inside mouth and rather than reducing pain it can increase pain and inflammation..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
