Is It Safe To Do C Section With Herpes Break Outs?

I had a cesarean at 38 weeks my last pregnancy due to a herpes outbreak. I am 33 weeks pregnant and though I am taking acyclovir as prescribed, I am beginning another outbreak. Is it likely a doctor would do another cesarean this early to prevent transmission?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Yes, if you will be having genital herpes at the time of delivery, the doctor will preferably do a caesarean section. As normal delivery can lead to infection in the neonate.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.Wishing you good health.
