Is It Possible To Test Positive For Typhoid Even After Getting Cured?

i was having typhoid 2 months ago and i took medicine and fever was eliminated but i still feel headache , dizzines and uncomfort. yesterday i went for a test which still showing the the typhoid . docter explained it as that due to anti bodies the test will kept coming postive even after six months. can any 1 help me in this regard.while its true that test will come postive even after 6 months? and how can i recover fast?

Thanks for writing in.

The antibodies circulate in blood and therefore the test is positive even after cure. The reversal to seronegativity may take time and this differs in many individuals. The H titre can be positive due to infection or vaccinations. The O titre can be positive because for 6 months after infection. There is another Vi antigen which shows carrier status and this can remain positive for longer periods.
