Is It Normal To Have Dizziness And Nausea As A Result Of Muscle Strain Behind Ears And Swollen Lymph Nodes??

i recently had what i believed a muscle strain in my neck behind my left ear, along with this i also have a swollen lymphnode about the size of a superball. i was seen by a dr that deals with workmens comp patients, not saying he is overlooking anything but, for the last week ive been becoming very dizzy and nauseaued and the pain is not getting better but worse. i can not sleep or pretty much do any recreational activities due to this. today i went to the chiropractor and he is sending me for an stat mri and some other testing tomorrow morning because he has felt swelling and thinks there may be a underlying problem, can you please tell me what he may be thinking because i was really not focused on what the words were he used

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dizziness and nausea as a result of muscle strain behind ears and swollen lymph nodes. The symptoms you mention in query occurring due to nerve disturbance. It seems that there is degeneration of nerve endings. The nerve supplying to middle ear that is vestibulocochlear nerve is getting affected with neuropathy and leads to your symptoms. there can be other reasons also like ear infection , lymphadenopathy and cervical spondylosis . Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination and to rule out other causes . Doctor may prescribe medicine to strengthen the nervous system like neuron forte along with antibiotics like amoxicillin at least for a week and anti inflammatory .. You should try to keep ear dry and start doing yoga and meditation. Avoid bending forward and touching or pricking it with sharp object.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
