Is It Necessary To Straighten The Septum During Nasal Polyp Surgery?

I am going to have surgery on Feb. 17 th 2011 for nasal polyps which are only left side of my nose. It is in the left sinus too. My septum is deviated and made my right nasal smaller. The ENT specialist will sraighten the septum too and as well remove the polyp from the nose and sinus. My question is , Is it necessary to straighten up the septum as well. Will it not increase my pain?
