Is It Advisable To Take Vitamin D Injections In A Grade II Breast Cancer Patient?

Hi, My mom had grade II breast cancer and every thing is completed including chemo and radiotherapy. Now she is having vitamin D deficiency. Doctor is recommending vit D injections. Is it okay to take those injections because i heard injections are painful and have side effects apart from its cost.

Thank you

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. She had breast cancer. She completed the treatment. But if she has vitamin D deficiency then she should take vitamin D supplements. Because low level can leads to weakned bone. So go for vitamin D level once and then take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your mother's situation and problem.
Yes, vitamin D injections are safe in cancer patients.
Vitamin D I'd fat soluble vitamin and hence it is oil base injection. And oil based injections are little painful on intramuscular injections.
So small amount is pain is expected with vitamin D intramuscular injections.
Injections should be given in alternate buttocks with experienced nurse, so that pain can be minimized.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wishing good health to your mother. Thanks.
