Is It Advisable To Continue Medicine That Causes Giddiness And Sleepiness?

My mother 73 is taking this medicine for the last one and half month ,as she had acute pain in the lower vertebra and tail bone ,but when she takes this tablet, she feels giddy and sleepy and dryness near the lips, should she continue the medicine , although it has given her lot of relief.

Hello,

Though it is hard to give any specific advice without knowing what medicine your mother is taking, in general, side effects of feeling giddy, sleepy, and lip dryness are not dangerous, though they can be annoying.

However, if she is overall getting more relief from the medication than the side effects are bothering her, I would suggest it might be better to keep using it.

Alternatively, there may be a similar medication she can take that would give her the same relief without the side effects.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
