Is It Advisable To Consume Alcohol During Medication For Pulmonary Valve Transfer?
Yes my daughter-in-law had an pulmonary valve (human ) put in. She is on an experimental drug because of the human vlave. I would like to know if it is dangerous to drink alcohol with the prescribed medicine. I don't know the name of the drug. Could you tell me what it might be? It seems every time she introduces alcohol into her small body she turns into someone else. Can there be an altering of their personalities due to the mix of chemicals in her blood stream.
You mention that she is on an experimental drug which perhaps means that she is participating in a clinical trial of a new drug. It is not possible for me to guess what it may be. But patients participating in clinical trials are always given clear-cut written instructions about what should and should not be done when one is on the drug. It is possible for alcohol to interact with a drug and cause problems and if this is happening, it should be brought to the notice of her doctors. I would suggest that your son should call up her doctor's office and discuss this with them.
Best wishes.
