vitcofol is an haematinic drug which helps in supplying iron in iron deficiency states. This or other drugs are usually during and after pregnancy to supply iron as its demand during this period is very high.Lack or iron in the mothers body can compromise development of fetus to some extent and can lead to iron deficiency in mother. So its supplementation is good along with food rich in it,but before your start taking it consult your doctor for dose and other guidance .
