Is Heavy Vaginal Bleeding Normal After Taking MTP Kit?
hi,, i am 27 and after consulting the gynac and undergoing ultrasound i adopted for abortion and the doctor prescribed me the MTP kit.i consumed all 4 tablets with a gap of 2 hours as prescribed by the doctor but i vomited 2 out them but began bleeding in an hour.i need to know if the kit has actually worked in my case..i had very severe abdominal pain and passed some blood clots as well but now there is no pain and the flow is heavy. awaiting your revert.
Such a heavy bleeding after the process of abortion has started suggests that you have probably not aborted completely. Incomplete abortions are known to cause heavy bleeding with usually pain in abdomen.
Please submit yourself for ultrasonography. It will reveal whether your uterus is empty or still some products of conception are remaining in the uterine cavity. If it reveals incomplete abortion, you will have to undergo surgical evacuation of the uterus.
Also please get your blood work up done to find out the bleeding and clotting status of your blood.
If such heavy bleeding continues, you may require few units of blood transfusion.
Please report to the Obstetrician ASAP for appropriate diagnosis and management.
