Is Heart Surgery Necessary For Kid With Heart Murmur?

Hi, my daughter(12 days old) have heart murmur. We will go for 2d echocardiography for heart murmur. What are the chance of going for heart surgery? and is it possible that the murmur cause any other significant diseases? She also has Rubella in significant caution.

Hi... as you say that she has got congenital rubella syndrome, I suspect the heart defect to be a patent ductus arteriosus or a ventricular septal defect.

Whether it will require surgery or not can be decided only after seeing the extent of the structural heart defect and also the pulmonary pressures. I suggest that you go ahead with the Echocardiography and the cardiologist will explain you when and what type of surgery will be required and also if surgery is required or not.
