Is Headache Related To Diabetes?

My husband recently had neck surgery and, found at that time, he had uncontrolled diabetes (now on insulin). His blood sugars are now running between 150 and 210. His is now experiencing dry heaves and headache every morning. Could this be related to the insulin?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

Usually head ache is not related to insulin as long as blood sugar are normal to above normal. Head ache only appears when blood sugar levels are too low, the condition which is called hypoglycemia. In your husband's case as the sugar levels you mentioned are a little higher to normal, head ache is not related to it.

The probable cause could be Hypertension, ie., high blood pressure. Please visit local physician and have BP check up. If that is normal, then ask him for complete evaluation.

Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you. Thank you.
