Is Excessive Sweating A Result Of Taking Metformin?
I have been on metformin about two years now, and have a problem with excessive sweating. Just walking around in the yard, and especially yard work, and I am pouring sweat. It s quite embarrassing when people are around and I am the only one sweating. Does the metformin cause this?
Is your blood sugar levels under control or not? Diabetic patients prone to hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia or cardiac problems or hypotension or anxiety may cause sweating.
Metformine rarely cause hypoglycemia and sweating. Also possible that it may be due to autonomic neuropthy in which nerves that controls sweat gland damaged lead to excessive sweating.
So please consult with your physician he will check exact cause for sweating and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
