Is Cough And Discomfort After Meal Related?

For many years, much of the time right after eating a meal or even a snack, I have to cough which is almost a 'phlegm-like' cough. It lasts about a minute or less. Also, in the past few years I sometimes have a hard time as soon as I swallow food (not liquids),as if the food gets stuck just before my stomach. This sometimes results in a few hiccups. Are these things related?
Thank you.

Hello,
Thanks for your query.
My advice is to have regularly meals preferable at same time (avoid oily and spicy food), include in you ration fresh juices, vegetables and vitamin supplements.
You may also consult your Physician who can prescribe antacids, perform a few tests like endoscopy, hormone levels, etc.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
