Is Constant Dull Ache In Chest While Taking Propranolol For High BP And Anxiety Normal?

I am taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and anxiety. I started 10mg twice a day on Monday. Today I noticed that I have like a dull ache in my chest. It came on around 5pm and has been present most of the evening. Is this a normal side effect or is it just my anxiety?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Propranolol can worsen angina if you already have ischemic heart disease. It seems your chest discomfort is anxiety related. However, you can go for ECG as minimal investigation to rule out cardiac pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
