Is Chicken Pox Contagious?

I have had shingle blisters for six days. The starting area never oozed, but look like it's crusting over. Do the blisters have to open and ooze to crust over? I have taken prescription medication since day three. I have waves of pain, but no itching whatsoever. Before the rash, I did have three days to serious pain in the affected area. Also, may I go out into the public. I have stayed at home because I work at a store and the doctor told me I could pass on chicken pox until the scabbing process begins. Can I go out grocery shopping without worrying about affecting someone?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe, it appears to be the viral infection, may be the chicken pox. It is infectious for the first few days. When it starts to scab, may become noninfectious.
So it is advisable to avoid going to the shop for few days more.
You may go for shopping as it may not take much time for shopping, no one may be infected in a few minutes.
wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
