Is A Hard, Red, Painful Bump On Right Testicle A Cause For Concern?

My husband has a hard, red bump to the right of his testicle. It has redness around it and the red is spreading down his leg. It looks to me like there is a hole in the bump that looks like a bite. It is causing him pain He has an appointment on Wednesday. Wondering if we should take him to the ER today.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to folliculitis. For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen. Avoid sweating. You may require antibiotics in case of fever. In case of pus discharge, apply antibiotics ointment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
