Is A Double Balloon Endoscopy A Safe Procedure?

My mom has been told she needs a double balloon endoscopy treatment. She is 79 and has survived Lymphoma from 7 years ago. Anyway, the hospital said it will be 5 weeks before they can get her scheduled for the endoscopy. Does this seem like an unfair amount of time given her history with Lymphoma? Thanks.

Hello,

No double balloon endoscopy they do if there is any problem with the intestine. Usually, through that scope, they can visualize the intestinal mucosa and find out what is causing her the problem is she is complaining of abdominal symptoms. I don't think they will simply do and lymphoma can do have abdominal symptoms so its better go for it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
