General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concern. Thyronorm is most commonly used medicine to treat hypothyroidism. Sometimes it may cause nausea, vomiting, sweating etc. These side effects are usually mild and will disappear after some time. So don't worry about side effects.

The duration of treatment depends on the levels of TSH. Usually your treating doctor will adjust dosage according to TSH level. Yes, in most of the cases the duration is for whole life.

I hope this helps. If you have any other query I will be happy to help.

Regards,
Dr. Prathap Kumar
