Hi & Welcome.
Scalptone is an Ayurvedic medicine claimed to be effective in the treatment of excessive hair loss. However, there is no scientific study done to prove its efficacy and safety in conditions associated with hair loss.
Since hair growth depends on the proper functioning of the thyroid gland, abnormal levels of thyroid hormone produced by this gland can result in hair changes, along with many other side effects, if left untreated.
Based on the history given you seem to be having
hypothyroidism associated with hair loss.
Kindly consult an
endocrinologist for further evaluation and replacement therapy in the form of
Levothyroxine the dose of which should be adjusted in a such a way to maintain the optimum TSH range of 0.4-3 mIU/mL.
The
thyroid function tests (Free T4 and TSH) are repeated after 3-4 weeks to check the efficacy of Levothyroxine and to increase the dose if TSH remains high.
If hair loss still continues to occur, you may start taking
Minoxidil lotion and Biotin tablets after consulting your doctor.
Hope to have answered your query.
