Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic.

Momate cream contains mometasone which is a potent steroid.

It should never be used for acne or acne spots. Steroids due to the anti-inflammatory effect might reduce the inflammatory component of acne temporarily but in the longer run they actually increase acne.

If I was your treating doctor then for your active acne, I would have asked you to use a topical antiacne gel, either clindamycin gel for day time application and benzoyl peroxide gel for night time application. They are antibacterial, antiinflammatory and keratolytic (benzoyl peroxide).

An oral antibacterial e.g doxycycline or azithromycin, may also be started depending on whether the acne lesions are inflammatory.

Acne spots can be reduced by using a demelanising cream containing either kojic acid or hydroquinone, once your acne activity is under control
