history of loss of balance, facial numbness ( left hand side )have been experiencing pitted oedema for over 2 years and chronic muscle pain and bouts of numbness on limbs. I have just had an mri on the brain and internal auditory canals, re asymmertric hearing loss.
Findings.. there are mulitple foci of deep white matter T2 type hyperintensity involving the rontal and parietal lobes bilaterally. These changes are more numerous than one would expect in a paatient of this age. (I'm 49 ) The radiological appearances are not overtly those of demyelination. Vasculitis / vasospasm are potential causes also. No cortical infarct, haemorrahage, Mass or Oedema. Brainstem normal.I am concernced about the possibilities of MS.
