Is Humulin R U100 Compatible With A Medtronics Paradigm Insulin Pump?
I shall be temporarily using Humulin R instead of my usual Novolog. I cannot find out if Humulin R U100 is compatible with a Medtronics Paradigm insulin pump? I know that both are U100 strength, and that Novolog is rapid acting, while Humlin regular rDNA insul is onlyfast acting. It would be a convenience to use a new infusion site and fill a new pump reservoir with the R, but if the Medtronics pump is not compatible, I shall go back to the B-D insulin syringes and manual sub-Q that I used for nearly forty years. Could you find me an answer to this?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I can understand your problem, it is all depends upon your body response to the molecules, the tight glucose level rule is the matter and some time two different molecules being used to maintain the good glucose level, for example rapid acting insulin is given in post meal dose while long acting given prior to sleep, this is little complex task and the experience clinician can do it, in short the molecule is not the matter but the maintaining tight glucose level is important, hope this information helps you, have nice day.
