Is Econorm Safe And Effective In Treatment Of Gastrointestinal Infections?

My mother is 72yrs old weighing 52 kgs.She is diabetic,hpothyroidic and hypertensive for the last 25 years .she developed g.i. infection with fever and was given ofloxacin tz for it .she has been having 2-3 motions for last 15 days. on a friends suggestion i have started giving her tab.econorm on an empty stomach BD for the last 6 days. kindly advtse if it is safe to do .so.

Econorm's function is to maintain healthy intestinal gut flora. it is mainly indicated for travellers diaarhoea. It is supplemental only and not the choice of treatment. i recommend you to consult a physician to find the underlying cause of diarrhoea.
