Irregular Periods. Noticed Brown Spotting After Drinking Beer. Pregnancy Test Negative. Suggestions
My period is irregular. I hadn't had a period since nov 2012 and just got what i thought could be my period in april 2013. I got worried because instead of the usual 4-6 days i was bleeding for 2 weeks. I started off with a light brownish color and the became bright red. Since i have stopped bleeding, whenever i drink beer i bleed again but almost as if i am spotting. I took a preg test at home and it was neg. I just wanted some advice before i have to go see a dr.
There is possibility of some hormonal imbalance. The menorrhagea you had for two weeks could be due to excessive growth of endometrium during the phase of amenorrhea. Sometimes foods and drinks can alter the metabolism of hormones and can affect the menstrual pattern. So you once consult gynecologist, get examined, go for ultrasound and hormonal profile including thyroid profile. By this workup the possible cause for your problem can be identified and treated.
