Irregular cough, chronic condition, nausea, vomiting, breathing difficulty. Causes for symptoms?

I have a cough which is not regular, it comes and goes when it pleases, some times 6 times a day or more but it is chronic, followed by nausea and at times vomiting and breathing diffuculty. (I have no breathing difficulty otherwise) I am still not sure what triggers it as I could wake up coughing in my sleep or chronically cough during a meeting. Please advise
