Dear Amit,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.

Your wife’s symptoms seem to be due to gastritis / gastric ulcer. A spicy diet, deep fried food, too much of caffeine, increased stress and lack of sleep all can precipitate acute gastritis.

The symptoms would improve with antacids - Syp Mucaine gel 1 tsp three times a day before food for 3-5 days. Antacids are available over the counter at your local pharmacy.

Additional benefits can be obtained by taking proton pump inhibitor drugs like omeprazole. This is available over the counter as prilosec OTC in some regions. In other regions you may need a doctor's prescription to avail it. You can take this once a day before food for 1-2 weeks.

Meanwhile along with these medications, restrict spicy diet and caffeinated drinks - coffee and other beverages, sleep well, avoid excessive stress and exercise adequately.

She should be fine very soon.

Hope your concern is addressed.

Wish you good health.

Regards
