I injured my right side a few days ago , I think I may have done it with the breastroke swimming turn, but I now have a rash in the same place as the pain, I am having difficulty lying down and sleeping, I am taking paracetamol for the pain, but because I am on prescribed medication for blood pressure and statins, plus dispersible asprin I am a little wary of taking the paracetamol, it does take the edge of the pain, but I am wondering if this is something more serious r

Hi, it appears to be the injury to the skin and subdermal tissues. As it is not treated immediately, an infection has started and spreading. So i advise you to consult a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment. Thank you.
