Ingrown Hair On Arms. What Can Be Done?

Since i was a kid i had like Some people calls it chicken skin. I have it on my arms. all my life i thought it was small pimples which all my life I pinched them or squeezed them. Recently i took a closer and i notice it was not pimples. It is ingrown hair but not severe. So i started to shave my arms with an electric shaver and i have noticed that it haves been reducing. I am not a very hairy person. I have no hairs in back or abundant in chest. I noticed that all my ingrown hair is where i have bigger muscles. For examples in my glutes, back of my legs, arms, legs but not in my face. The disadvantage is that some of these ingrown hairs transforms into infected ingrown hairs. Is there something that i can do because all the dermatologist that i had haves never gave me a solution.

Hi,

You are having ingrown hairs on some parts of the body.

Exact cause is not known.

There may the tendency for such condition.

Many times, the ingrown hairs become normal by themselves.

There is no perfect treatment.

Antibiotics and retinoids may be tried.

Keratolytic and antibiotic cream might improve the condition.

To prevent ingrown hairs, shave with single blade and direction should be in hairs direction.

If you use electric razor, keep the distance from skin.

Apply cool clothes after shaving.

I hope you might be improved.

Thanks.
