Inflammation In Throat, Sudden Pain In Ear. Could This Be Due To Reflux ?

I have what I assume is inflammation in my throat (feels closed up). I don't think it's my vocal folds because I have no hoarseness. I occasionally have pain in my right ear that is sudden and painful but not continuous. I have been told I may have reflux but do not feel any reflux or have any heartburn etc. I have been on reflux medicine and feel it's not making any difference

hi
Thanks for your query

i can feel your concerns

infact throat and ear are interconnected by a tube

any infection inthroat does affect ear as well

if you have throat infection, then yes you might experience pain in ear

you should take honey and green tea

saline gargles are also effective

steam inhalation is another simple technique for remedy

Avoid soft and cold drinks

Avoid putting anything in ear.

use cotton plugs in ear while taking bath

you can take painkillers like brufen for pain

i also advise you to have a complete examination by your ENT doctor
