Infection In The Craves Of Legs. Diagnosed Yeast Infection. Prescribed Nystatin Oinment
My youngest daughter took her 2 year old son to the doctor last Thursday for what we were told by someone else that his eczema. The doctor informed us that it was a yeast infecton. It seemed to have gotten better, but now its coming back really bad. The infecton is in the craves of his legs where the daper goes. Is there anything else that we can put on the infection beside the nystatin ointment that the doctor prescribed for him.
If your doctor has said it is as yeast infection, applying Nystatin ointment will help and there was initial improvement as you have said. Since the boy is 2 years old and the infection is spreading to diaper area, I suggest that you keep the diaper area as dry as possible and change diapers quickly so that the skin does not remain moist for long. Apply nystatin ointment to cover the entire area, especially on the margins. This will limit in spread of the infection further.
