Impaired Hearing In One Ear Due To High-pitched Ringing Post Using Earwax Removal Drops. Remedy?

I can t hear in my left ear at all. The only thing I can hear from it is a very loud, high-pitched, constant ringing noise. I ve been to the doctor, but she said there was nothing wrong with it. It ended up like this after I used earwax removal drops to get the ear wax out of it since it was blocking my hearing beforehand. Do you have any idea why it s like this and what I can do to fix it?

Hello and welcome to HCM

Hearing loud, high pitched and constant ringing noise in ears indicates some pathology/ problem in ear- inner ear or in the pathway of hearing.
You need to get a complete ear examination.
In case there in wax impacted in the ear canal, it can be removed by syringing.
In case the ear canal is clear, inner ear needs to be investigated by tuning fork tests and audiometry.

Consult your ENT specialist as the hearing loss can aggravate if not investigated in time
Thanks and take care

HI I have gone through your mail and as you have said that you have loss of hearing from your left ear after use of wax softener ear drop. After listening your this story I am suspecting that wax in your ear is now swollen up thus the wax had now covered the ear drum, but you have also said that you have already met a doctor who said every thing is OK in your ear,is she E.N.T.specialist?.If not than please consult an E.N.T.specialist for clinical examination of ear,on examination if wax is diagnosed than you will be alright just after removal of wax on the other hand if your ear is found clean than you will be advice for hearing tests like-Pure tone audiometry, and Impedance audiometry to find out the real cause of hearing loss.Thanks.
