I Have Had Blood Pressure Problems For Going On 9 Years

Ive had blood pressure problems for going on 9 years. Im 21 years old. Ive been on blood pressure medicine and it helps some but not much. I get short of breath with everything I do and when I do any activity I get chest discomfort. Im a healthy weight, Dr said that its not a problem. Im 5 1 110 pounds. My heart rate is always fast. Resting being 130+ . My EKG was abnormal showing heart rate of 178. So I had an ECHO done, I didnt see the report from it but my cardiologist said it was mostly normal. holter monitor showed nothing, just a heart rate ranging from 140-210. I asked him today why my heart is always going fast, why I cant do anything without feeling like Im going to/or actually passing out. It is so frustrating anymore. Im seriously starting to get depressed, I cant go out and have fun like everyone else. He believes my body produces too much adrenaline, and thats the only answer he has for me. although all my tests come back alright. I do have very high cholesterol and Triglycerides but the Dr didnt say much about it. I eat healthy. Hardly ever eat any Red meats. I mostly eat salads and fruit. All he did was increase my beta blocker again and said see ya in 2 months. I know something is going on, Why cant I get answers for whats going on with me. I had my thyroid checked a few months ago, Dr said it was within normal levels. As for my Kidneys, My Family Dr said that since the Urine test was normal nothing was wrong with the kidneys. I also had an ultrasound of the kidneys- nothing :(

Hi Amber, You need to see a cardiologist darling who from what you have said should put you on something like digoxin tablets which will slow, strengthen and regulate the heart beat. There is absolutely no need for you to be suffering like this. you could be living a perfectly normal life with the right medication. It is nothing which can't be put right, so don't let it carry on. I honestly despair with some of these quacks who call themselves doctors! Good luck sweetheart I hope you get it sorted quickly so you can get on with your life, Lots of love. Mel.X
