Dear Doctor, Myself Pradipa Das from Bhubaneswar,Odisha.I have been suffering from skin infection in my left hand palm concavity, just like fungal infection. It aggravates after cleaning of clothes by detergents and use of hair oil.It produces dry scales and cracks even upto bleeding of skin.It does not show any irritation,no spreading,no itching ,but does not heal since three years.I have used so many antifungal creams, ointments, gels but of no use.Now I am continuing Xerina ointment and Blisderm ointment at night since one month.Only it is suppressive but no complete cure.If oneday I will not use, again the same dry, scally and crack scenario. For this I feel very uneasy and shy. Hence, humbly requested to suggest any ointment or cream from your expertisation for which I shall be grateful to you. With regards and thanks. Pradipa Kumar das Bhubaneswar odisha

Hello Doctor,I have been suffering from itchy scrotum since a year. Back in Dec 09, I had a secondary fungal infection on the scrotum due to excessive sweat. The doctor had prescribed Flucanazole tablets and Zole-F cream. It took 3 weeks to heal. But, the infection did not seem to cure 100%. My scrotum often goes dry and white and becomes itchy and with a burning sensation. When the scrotum skin is stretched, I observed a kind of drought area like texture with small dark patches in irregular shapes. Applying coconut oil provides temporary relief. It does not itch during night times, except in one or two instances. I am not sure if it is still a fungus infection. I do not have fungus infection on foot or else where. During the mid of the day, the scrotum skin becomes dry and the skin turns pale white and it burns a bit. This kind of infection is observed only on the scrotum, and not on the penis nor on the bottom of the scrotum. I also have developed 3 small blisters on the upper left side of the scrotum, which earlier were the size of a pea and now has reduced in size, but is still there. I apply coconut oil daily morning and before going to bed and stay calm for 30 mins until the skin absorbs it, and I am doing it since a year and yet no signs of cure. I fear of approaching a skin doctor as he might prescribe steroids which may worsen the situation. Adding to it, I recently developed 3-4 white patches on the left side of the groin area which itches quite often. I started applying a Micanazole Nitrate + Fluocinolone Acetonide based cream since last 4 weeks. Please let me know if my scrotum skin infection is an indication of fungal infection. Thanks in advance,

I'm male and 19 years old. I have 2 bald patches at either side of my hairline. Its not receded at all, and I've had the patches since I was very young, hiding them with long hair. I looked around and the closest hairloss conditions I could find that match mine were Alopecia Areata and Triangular Alopecia. Is there any way of correcting this, or is surgery the only option? also will this correct itself? I've had this since I was probably 13-14 I think.

My daughter is a crohn's sufferer, diagnosed 12 months ago. She is on immunosuppressants and suffers repeat bladder infections. The crohn's itself is under control (we think) but today she is in pain again with an urgent need to pass water and there has been blood in her urine which has been absent with previous infections. She has mentioned her illness to doctors when getting treatment for "water infections" and they have been fairly dismissive of a link to crohns. The problem is we do not know what to expect if a flare-up occurs. Could this latest symptom (blood in her urine) be a symptom of flare-up or should we stop being concerned and assume it is another water/bladder infection? I would like her to go to A&E and get it checked but don't want to touble doctors unnecessarily.

I have had 3 c sections and since my last one 2 years ago I have had general discomfort in my lower mostly left abdomen. Lately I have had frequent urgent uncomfortable urination, with negative urine culture. Had renal ultrasound today that looked fairly normal I think. Wonder about scar tissue? Also I have ulcerative colitis but haven't had a serious flair in about 2 years.
